A look at the Central TX IPO market
Tech companies in Central Texas are on the short list to kick start the IPO market, helping to put that region on the VC radar.

Austin has had just one initial public offering in the past three years: software maker SolarWinds Inc. , which had a strong debut in May. (Two publicly traded Austin software companies — Vignette Corp. and Borland Corp. — were sold last year, taking them off the list.)
Austin isn't alone in having been frozen out of the IPO market. The past two years have been the worst for initial public offerings since 1975, according to the National Venture Capital Association.
